2011 Is The Year I'm Getting a PS3

After having an Xbox 360 since 2006, its now time to get a Playstation 3. Why? Well 2 main reasons; 1) The Xbox 360 doesn't make too many good exclusives any more and 2) Price is not a factor for the PS3 now. I mean the Xbox 360 has fallen off bad as far as exclusives go. This year, Gears of War 3 seems to be the only good exclusive. Last year wasn't too good for 360 exclusives either. Basically, everything good thats coming out on 360 is coming out on PS3. And now you can get a Playstation 3 for $230!!!! Thats right $230. The price for a new one is $300 but gamestop now has some refurbished ones for $230. I'll admit that $600 was too much when it first came out, but I can definitely accept $230. I can't wait, I should have one around April or May. My first game is more than likely going to be Yakuza 3...or 4..

I am a PS3 fanboy and I love my Black Box but the reasons you gave don't really make sense.

First, 360 has some awesome exclusive games like Halo and GoW that any gamer would die for.

Secondly, regarding the price part. Agreed that the PS3 is cheaper now. But the games for Xbox are way cheaper than those for the PS3. So, unless you wanna keep burning a hole in your pocket or rather regretting not-buying titles, I suggest that you stick to you Xbox.

I'm doing the exact same thing as you. I am getting a PS3 within a month just so I can play SOCOM. That's how much I really love it, plus lots of my friends have it. I will only buy exclusives on PS3 not games like COD available on 360 which I have.

please dont buy a ps3 for socom. I warn you now.

Agreed. Socom is going to be terrible. There are way better games on the PS3 to look forward to (Uncharted 1/2/3, inFamous 1/2, Killzone 1/2/3, Gran Turismo 5, etc.).

damn, ps3 is down to $300?!? I remember how they were saying that Sony was actually taking a loss selling the system at $600, which is understandable because of how much money they get from games and whatnot, but damn half the price! that's taking quite the hit

The reason why LBP is $60 and Halo is £13 is because LBP2 has just come out. People see LBP2 on top sellers list, may not have purchased the original and think, oh, I'll buy the first one to see what it's like. This way MediaMolecule and Sony make more money. Whereas Halo has just finished, with Reach came out in November sometime (I think, don't quote me), and no new game has come out since.

Actually I have a good one for ya. Yesterday I saw EA Sports MMA on PS3 selling for $64.99 and 2 shelves over it was on 360 for $39.99. Both new copies.

Exactly. If they're really comparing PS3 game prices to regular XBOX prices, then that's apples to oranges. That's like comparing the graphics of the N64 to the PS3.

lol dude I think it was a joke. He said Halo 2 was $13..Halo 2 is a game for the original XBOX, not XBOX 360..and it's like a 7-8 year old game. And as you know LBP2 just came out. The joke being that he listed an XBOX game because whoever it was said "xbox" games and wasn't specific to 360 games.

IMO a PS3 game should be the same price as a 360 game brand new..unless someone gives me a good reason otherwise.

LMAO... now if I saw somthing like this at a store, and it was a game that I really wanted to purchase, I would've looked into the pricing a little more closely. I'm willing to wager that it was more than likely a typo, or something... I've never seen such a huge difference in price, when it comes to (wait for it) PS3 games and Xbox 360 games.
