Q & A - Henchmen Cast - Episode 6

Hey guys, you know the drill, post your questions for the next Henchmen Cast here.

What is your take on Easter eggs in games? Not so much subtle references to other games and media like in Metal Gear Solid 4 or Fallout 3, but just plain odd things like the riverdancing marines in Hitman: Blood Money or the grunt birthday party in Halo 2 or the random shark fin in Just Cause 2. Do you think their distracting? Would you like to see more games include them?

What is the one game that you can play that will get you in a good mood, regardless of how crappy or angry you felt before?

When buying a new game, without reading a review on it, what do you look for?

Have you ever noticed that if you play a game and get to a point where you just cant beat it, so you stop playing. Then a few months later you decide to come back and play again, and you find out that it actually wasnt that hard at all. If so what game...?

Have you ever played video games for an extended period of time where you hallucinate images of the video games?

What are your thoughts on in-game advertisements for real-world products?

With characters like Nathan Drake, Jason Flemming, and now even Sam Fisher who all look pretty much the same, and with Nolan North providing the voice for everyone and their grandmother, do you think game developers are relying too much on the image of the everyman to sell their games? Do you believe that this type of character allows for more interesting stories to be told or is it a mechanism used to avoid having to write a compelling character from the get go and instead relying on the familiarity of the "everyman" with audiences and thus creating a better connection with whatever characterization (good or bad) that they decide to give?

I've just started catching up on the podcasts. I started at 1 and am currently on 4. Anyhow, it has been a very weird experience seeing how the show progresses and hearing predictions or comments that end up either proven or disproven. It's also help me make connections with VGH and definitely made me a fan.

My question is when exactly was it that VGH decided to try to be something big? Do you guys feel like you are making it somewhere as far as popularity goes? Where do you guys hope to go with this? (Whether realistically or not).

In your opinion, your honest one. What is your least favorite gamer attribute to deal with. i.e. fanboys, rage quitters, screamers, UK kids, bla bla bla.


This question applies to multiplayer of course.

This is more of a personal question, but I'm curious. Has anyone in VGH been in a clique? Such as growing your hair out and being a rocker, wearing dark clothing and eyeliner to be emo, or being into tons of sports and being a jock, etc.
