| I am trying to find a headset to buy since I'm tired of buying crappy $20 microsoft ones...I have a 360, about $100 (tax and shipping doesn't matter), wired or wireless, doesn't matter but wireless is preferred. I was looking at Trittons and Turtle Beaches at Best Buy and Skullcandy's online...any others that are good for that amount? | |

| to be honest the wireless headset should be the only one you ever need. as long as you arent going out of range it has the best sound quality and picks up your voice better than the official wired one and alot of other third party headsets ive used. Ive had it for a good 3 years with no problems. Its loads better than the wired one. try one used from gamestop and take it back if you dont like it. | |

| I got a Wireless Turtle Beach Earforce X31 a few months ago, and while it was great for a while, I've now noticed that the audio will pop out for a split second while I'm playing. I checked all the connections and even tried sitting right next to the sensor but it still does it so I've stopped using it. Also, if you buy a wireless get rechargeable batteries, trust me you'll need 'em. John just recently got the Turtle Beach PX21 which works with PS3, 360 and PC/Mac and he seems to really like it, however it is wired. My brother has the Tritton AX 180, which for a cheap wired headset is not too bad. To me it seems like wired headsets are more reliable than the wireless ones, but the convenience of wireless is hard to give up. Most wireless ones are gonna cost you over $100 though, so it's all up to how much you're willing to pay and what you think you really need. | |

| Dumb question: can the 360 use Blutooth headsets like the PS3, or no? | |

| As far as I know, no it can't. You have to buy the Microsoft specific wireless headset which costs an arm and a leg. Curse you Microsoft!!!! | |

| I think I have decided on getting the TB X11's ($60) and eventually adding the TB DSS ($90) for it to get surround sound...all for less than the cost of the X41's ($200) and not having to constantly feed batteries into a wireless headset.
I'm not really sure if I will get it, get it though. I mean does the headset really enhance gaming performance and life? or is it just there as a side accessory. | |

| or you can always go to the pro's and buy the most expensive and top of the line headset out there which are the Astro A40's w/ Mixamp which will cost you around $250.00+ | |

| Headsets in a lot of cases do enhance the gaming experience. I know with Modern Warfare 2 I was significantly better because I put on Ninja Pro and could hear people's footsteps coming towards me. It was like an extra little radar and really helps out if you play multiplayer games. Also, if a game has great sound design they are great. I played Alan Wake with my headset on and it was one of the most intense gaming experiences I've ever had. The little nuances that you hear with a headset really shows you how much time Remedy put into that game and it adds an extra creepiness when you are playing the game. You hear shouts off in the distance and bushes rustle, its pretty cool. If a game has good sound design, you will definitely notice it with a headset, especially if your tv has crappy speakers, the difference will be like night and day. | |

| Astro A40's hands down dude, but the second runner up would probably be Turtle Beaches because I've had my TB for awhile now and it's swaggin' | |
